Full Neck Lift
A full neck lift offers more significant results than a short scar neck lift. However, the incisions for a full neck lift are more extensive. With a full neck lift, the incisions are made at the hairline, starting at the sideburns. These incisions stretch down the side of the face, around the ear, and end at the back of the neck. An additional incision may be made under the chin. A full neck lift offers dynamic results to allow you a fully contoured neck that you will be proud to show off.
Short Scar Neck Lift
A short scar neck lift is optimal for patients with minor sagging skin and wrinkles. As the name suggests, the incisions are much smaller than those made for a full neck lift, which allows for less noticeable scarring. With a short scar neck lift, incisions are made behind each ear and under the chin. This type of neck lift will still give you noticeable results, like a tightened and more toned appearance of the neck as well as smoother skin; however, for patients with moderate to heavy neck issues, a full neck lift is recommended.
Combining a Neck Lift With Other Procedures
Many patients combine their neck lift surgery with other procedures to allow for more dynamic results. One of the most commonly combined surgeries with a neck lift is facelift surgery. With a facelift, the skin on the lower portion of the face, including the cheeks and around the mouth, is tightened and any fat is removed to give you a more youthful appearance.Dr. Gonzalez often recommends that patients combine their neck lift with a facelift to allow for optimal results.
